Full Stack Developer

The ideal candidate has experience building scalable, secure, and user-centric applications in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of modern web technologies, APIs, and cloud-based architectures. This role is critical to delivering high-quality digital services that enhance the Veteran experience.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust or higher-level clearance.
- This position is primarily remote; however, must be able to come on-site in Washington, DC, as required.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related
- Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience
- Certifications, such as AWS Developer, Microsoft Certified Developer, etc. are preferred
- Proficiency in front-end technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- Strong back-end development experience (Node.js, Java, .NET, or similar)
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Understanding of secure coding practices and application security
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience supporting VA or federal IT programs
- Familiarity with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of healthcare IT systems or interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR)
- Experience with low-code/no-code platforms (aligned with VA EDGE/OMEGA initiatives
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications (front-end and back-end)
- Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces using modern web frameworks
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices
- Collaborate with DevSecOps engineers to integrate CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Ensure application security, performance, and scalability
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and best practices
- Work with product owners, UX designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Support testing, debugging, and troubleshooting across development environments
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and iterative development processes
