Senior Full Stack Engineer | FinTech / Payments

London, Canary Wharf (Hybrid, 2 to 3 days in office)

Do you have strong TypeScript skills across both frontend and backend? Have you built production systems within a payments or fintech environment? Are you comfortable with event-driven architecture at scale? Are you looking for a hands-on senior engineering role in a company building its core payments platform from the ground up?

If yes, this could be for you:

We are partnering with a regulated fintech business to appoint a Senior Full Stack Engineer at a pivotal point in their product build. The business is building a payments platform designed to move money faster and more efficiently across borders for UK businesses.

The engineering team is small, collaborative and focused on doing things the right way from day one.

This is a role with genuine ownership. You will work across the full stack, contributing to architecture decisions as well as hands-on implementation.

What You Will Do

  • Own features end-to-end across backend and frontend
  • Build event-driven services using immutable data principles
  • Contribute to the in-house transaction and ledger model
  • Develop real-time pricing capabilities and integrate with KYC, KYB and AML providers
  • Support infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and compliance considerations
  • Mentor the Mid-Level Engineer on the team

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong TypeScript experience across frontend and backend
  • Payments or fintech background
  • Experience building event-driven, high-volume systems
  • Full stack capability including React with TypeScript
  • AWS cloud platform experience
  • PostgreSQL database experience
  • Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems and security
  • SST, hexagonal architecture or DynamoDB experience is a plus
  • Mentoring experience is welcome but not required

Practicalities

  • Location: Canary Wharf, London (hybrid, minimum 2 to 3 days in office)
  • Reporting to: Lead Engineer
  • Start: As soon as possible

This is a rare opportunity to join a small, talented engineering team at the build phase of a regulated payments platform, with real architectural influence and room to grow.
