A Day in the Life of the Product Development Manager

In this role, you’ll act as the central hub for all product development efforts, ensuring projects stay on track, aligned, and prioritized. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver new features, resolve issues, and launch innovative products. Your work directly contributes to improving product performance, scalability, and overall customer experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Own and manage execution of product development initiatives, including feature upgrades, bug fixes, and new product development
• Build and maintain product timelines, priorities, and project tracking systems
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including software, mechanical engineering, design, and product specialists
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors, manufacturers, and development partners
• Track, prioritize, and manage bugs, issues, and feature requests
• Maintain a structured product backlog and ensure high-impact work is prioritized
• Translate business needs and customer feedback into actionable product plans
• Collaborate across product, sales, operations, and customer experience teams
• Support execution of the product roadmap across hardware, software, and e-commerce products
• Partner with product support to identify trends and prioritize reliability improvements
• Ensure proper product documentation, build readiness, and manufacturing alignment
• Participate in weekly product and cross-functional meetings to track progress and resolve issues

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience managing product development across hardware and software environments
• Prior experience owning end-to-end product launch
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners
• Experience with bug tracking, backlog management, and prioritization frameworks
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical execution
• Detail-oriented with a focus on execution and delivery
