Role Overview
Our client, an investment and real estate development firm, is seeking a high-caliber Assistant Project Manager to join their team. This is a strategic opportunity for an early-career professional to transition from pure site work or from university into development projects. You will work on the execution of projects, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of residential and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Support: Assist in the end-to-end delivery of construction projects, from initial planning and procurement through to final handover and snagging.
- Commercial & Financial Reporting: Support the Senior Project Management team in generating high-level monthly progress reports, drafting client/investor memos, and conducting preliminary reviews of contractor claims.
- Schedule Management: Monitor project timelines and critical paths to ensure all milestones are achieved on schedule and within the allocated budgetary framework.
- Document Control & Governance: Maintain rigorous project documentation, ensuring that RFI (Request for Information) logs, submittals, and site records are accurate and up to date.
- Site Supervision & Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections to audit progress, ensure quality control, and confirm that all works are compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate effectively between internal engineering teams, external consultants, site staff, and local authorities to ensure seamless communication.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related technical discipline.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in the MS Office Suite (particularly Excel). Familiarity with project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project or Primavera P6) is desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical site data into clear executive summaries.
- Driving: A full, clean driving license is required for travel between the regional office and various project sites.
- Soft Skills: A proactive, "problem-solver" mindset with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
