We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support our government client on an initial 9-month contract. The role requires a major focus on data analysis, data solutions, balanced with strong techno-functional skills. This role is required to support Solution Architect, Data Modellers, Testers, Business Analysts to achieve organisational objectives, deliver business outcomes and exceed client and stakeholder needs.


The Role

The Data Analyst is required to:

  • Engage, develop, and review use cases, technical specifications for various data solutions with Business Intelligence team and other business stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain data sets, models, and other assets within data platforms that are based on SAP HANA, Azure, and Databricks.
  • Participate ELT development lifecycle and assist deployment.
  • Develop SIT and UAT scenarios together with testers and business analysts.
  • Develop and supports meta data management and business rules management for data transformation.
  • Support data platform operation and continuous improvement initiatives from both functional and technical perspectives.
  • Coordinate and assist project execution together with Solution Architect and Project Managers
  • Support Solution Architect’s works including development of roadmaps, reporting fulfillment, architectural designs, data maturity and governance, and so on.
  • Contribute towards a positive, participative and supportive culture and build and maintain strong working relationships with officers across the client and other agencies
  • Train up and handover to existing staff and document to an acceptable standard


Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, the Worker should have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in designing and building end-to-end data pipelines upon both SAP HANA and Azure Databricks.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT and governance toolset, Business Intelligence toolset.
  • Strong data analysis skills backed by technical HANA SQL or Spark SQL capabilities.
  • Attention to detail, precision, and able to troubleshoot data issues of various perspectives.
  • Experience in maintaining conceptual, logical, and dimensional data models.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills written and verbal, formal documentation, diagramming and modelling.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Appetite to explore technical solutions that can be used to apply to solving problems.


Highly regarded although not mandatory experience would include

  • Technical experience SAP HANA 2.0 ELT and data modelling using SDI, SDA, XSA, CDS, etc.
  • Technical skills in reporting prototyping and presentation using SAC or Power BI.
  • Functional knowledge in SAP S4HANA modules: Public Sector Collections & Disbursement (PSCD), Customer Management (CM), Tax Revenue Management (TRM), and Contract Accounting (FICA).
