Globe 24-7, in partnership with an international mining company, is supporting the appointment of an Underground Training Specialist. The operation is a well-established underground mine, focused on safe, efficient production and continuous capability development across its workforce.
The Role
The Underground Training Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering training programs across underground mining operations. Based residentially in North Macedonia, the role plays a key part in developing workforce capability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding a strong safety and learning culture on site.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced underground operator with strong practical knowledge of mining equipment and production activities, combined with the ability to transfer skills and develop others.
The Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver underground training programs aligned with operational and safety requirements.
- Assess workforce competency levels, identify skills gaps, and support onboarding of new employees.
- Develop and maintain training frameworks and competency systems across underground operations.
- Deliver practical, hands-on training across key underground mining activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, and haulage.
- Ensure compliance with statutory training requirements and maintain accurate training records.
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and HSE teams to align training with site objectives.
- Promote and embed a strong safety and continuous learning culture across the workforce.
- Support the development of training materials, procedures, and improvement initiatives.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to operators and supervisors to improve performance and capability.
The Requirements
- Proven experience in underground mining operations, with strong exposure to drilling, blasting, and production activities.
- Hands-on operating experience with underground equipment such as drill rigs (jumbo), LHDs (scooptrams), and underground trucks.
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, including longhole stoping, slot raising, and ground support installation.
- Knowledge of ventilation, dust control, and geotechnical hazards.
- Experience working with modern underground mining equipment and systems.
- Experience in training delivery, competency frameworks, or workforce development within mining.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Understanding of statutory training and safety requirements within mining operations.
- Willingness to be based residentially in North Macedonia.
