Senior System Engineer | Hybrid | Boston | Up to $165,000


A professional services firm is seeking a System Engineer to design, implement, and support a Microsoft-centric infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This individual will work very close with IT leadership to ensure performance across enterprise systems.


What You Will Do

  • Design and support a Microsoft based infrastructure across cloud and on premises environments
  • Design and manage identity and access controls across Active Directory and Azure AD environments.
  • Deploy and maintain Hyper-V virtualization platforms and high-availability clusters.
  • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and resilience
  • Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and act as a senior technical escalation point


What You Bring

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft environments across cloud and server infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Azure, virtualisation, identity management, and security best practice
  • Experience with automation and scripting
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure, storage, and backup solutions
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to operate in fast paced environments
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative and proactive approach
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Microsoft IT environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft M365 Suite, Azure, Intune, MFA, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange on-prem, Microsoft Exchange Online, Citrix, Microsoft Defender Suite, Nimble Storage, Pure Storage, HP ProLiant Servers, Exagrid & Rubrik backup solutions, Symantec backup solutions.
