Description

Responsible for the movement of goods (Raw & Finished) throughout the production and warehouse in a safe and timely manner. As with all positions in the shipping department, we must ensure that the Standard Operating Procedures are followed as they are written to ensure quality measures are met.

Must have forklift experience, be able to complete a forklift certification, and no corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for unloading/loading trailers in the reasonable expected (RE) time.
  • Responsible for locating pallets in the reasonable expected (RE) time.
  • Responsible for ensuring that orders shipped out are accurate.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations in forklift operations.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to drive a forklift in a safe manner adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Must have the ability to interact with the team in a positive manner.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks according to their importance or urgency.
  • Must have a positive attitude to adapt to change.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend and stoop for long periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to withstand noisy, dusty work areas.
  • Must always wear safety glasses.
  • Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift according to proper safety guidelines, including the wearing of seat belts.
  • Must be aware of surrounding at all times.

Special Qualifications

  • 2 years previous forklift experience
  • Must complete and pass Phase 1 of forklift program.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift in a professional manner and have good maneuverability skills.
