Job Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to complete a wide range of accounting and reporting tasks while providing a challenging and rewarding environment for growth and development. The role will focus on Australia/NZ and Ozmosis, supporting the ANZ Finance Manager and the Group Financial Controller. Additionally, this role will lead the Accounts Payable team and assist the FP&A team with budgeting and forecasting, as well as serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on the D365 decommissioning project. Key Responsibilities: Key Finance Core Functions: - Overall responsibility for the timely preparation of month-end, half-year, and year-end reporting for International, Australia/NZ wholesale, and support for Ozmosis accounting. - Prepare and/or review monthly balance sheet reconciliations. - Review actuals against the budget and provide commentary on variances. - Collaborate closely with the FP&A team on budgeting and forecasting. - Oversee fixed asset record maintenance, including reconciliation with physical stock takes and inventory lists. - Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive efficiencies. - Ensure tax obligations are lodged and paid on time. - Work with senior stakeholders across the business. - Investigate stock costing variances to ensure accurate inventory costs. - Assist with the transition of accounting work to the new ERP system. - Support the Financial Controller/Finance Manager with various ad-hoc project work as required. - Prepare year-end reporting requirements for the entity and collaborate with the Finance Manager and Group Accounting Team to ensure that all half-year and year-end audit and reporting deadlines are met without any audit adjustments being raised. Managing and Guiding the Accounts Payable Team - Lead and mentor the Accounts Payable team based in Torquay. - Provide coaching to junior team members, including support for the Payroll team. - Monitor payment cycles and aging accounts. - Actively participate in cost reduction initiatives and deliver savings. - Promote strong financial governance and controls across the business. - Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. - Proven experience in GL functions within the retail industry. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with retail accounting principles, including inventory accounting. - Experience handling large volumes of transactions and multi-location operations. - Knowledge of taxation and compliance requirements for retail businesses.
