Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development
- Directly supervise, coach, and develop all department managers (e.g., cultivation, processing, packaging, inventory) and their respective teams, building a collaborative, high-performance culture across the facility.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, deliver constructive feedback, and implement development plans to drive continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Develop and lead comprehensive training programs to enhance skills, safety awareness, and compliance across all teams, exceeding baseline regulatory requirements where possible.
- Facility & Production Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end operations from cultivation and harvest through processing to finished-goods packaging, ensuring seamless integration, high-quality standards, and maximum operational efficiency.
- Manage daily execution of all production, processing, and packaging activities while maintaining full adherence to state regulations, company SOPs, and internal policies.
- Review, adjust, and optimize labor and production schedules based on business demands, incoming orders, product availability, resource constraints, and production goals.
- Track, analyze, and report facility-wide KPIs (e.g., yield, throughput, waste, downtime, compliance metrics) and implement adjustments to meet or exceed targets.
- Oversee all production phases from harvest through to finished goods processing, ensuring high-quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely and compliant execution of all production and packaging tasks, maintaining adherence to state regulations and company SOPs.
- Review and adjust labor production schedules based on business needs, production goals, and resource availability. Track and report KPI metrics and adjust, as needed.
- Champion and enforce rigorous quality control systems to consistently produce premium cannabis products that meet or exceed standards.
- Lead thorough audits of batch records, inventory, seed-to-sale tracking, and operational data to guarantee accuracy, traceability, and full regulatory compliance.
- Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring the facility operates with integrity and zero tolerance for violations.
- Process Optimization & Innovation
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, boost productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall facility performance.
- Evaluate, implement, and manage new technologies, equipment, or methods to improve efficiency, product quality, and scalability.
- Set and manage packaging and production goals aligned with inventory levels, sales forecasts, and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting, Documentation, & Strategic Planning
- Prepare and review comprehensive inventory, production, and financial reports to monitor progress against monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and targets.
- Ensure accurate, real-time updates in seed-to-sale systems, inventory tools, and other tracking platforms.
- Partner with senior leadership to establish facility goals, forecast production for sale, address operational challenges, and contribute to long-term strategic planning.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that support company objectives, including cost control, employee retention, and operational excellence.
- Other Responsibilities
- Manage facility-wide resources, including budgeting, safety protocols, maintenance, and employee relations issues.
- Resolve escalated operational, compliance, or personnel matters effectively and directly.

- Minimum Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, operations, plant science, or a related field – Required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in cannabis production, manufacturing, or a regulated industry, with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory or managerial role – Required
- Demonstrated track record of successfully leading teams and achieving operational goals in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
- Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership abilities with proven success in team development, performance management, and fostering a positive, high-accountability culture.
- Deep knowledge of cannabis cultivation, processing, manufacturing, and regulatory compliance (state-specific regulations, seed-to-sale tracking).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Skilled at conflict resolution, employee relations, and handling escalated issues with integrity and fairness.
- Proficient in production/inventory management software, seed-to-sale systems (e.g., Metrc or equivalent), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other relevant tools.
- Must pass federal and state-mandated background checks.
- Operates with high integrity; trustworthy, reliable, and committed to ethical standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proficient with inventory systems and office equipment
- Knowledge of plant tracking software; state-mandated
