Pacs Analyst II - Full Time Exempt

Essential Functions
Responsible for day-to-day operation of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto routing, and prefetching and other related activities. Works closely with MIS department to ensure timely and complete capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system as well as network transmission, Epic Radiant validation, and exceptions handling.
- Administer, configure, and maintain PACS, RIS, (Epic Radiant) and related imaging applications
- Provide Tier 2–3 technical support for PACS-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and access problems
- Troubleshoot DICOM, HL7, and interface issues between imaging modalities, PACS, EPIC, and third-party systems
- Monitor system performance, storage utilization, and server health; escalate issues to MIS department as needed
- Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and security in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
- Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and downtime with vendors and internal IT teams
- Support disaster recovery planning, backups, and system redundancy for imaging systems
- Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and change management records
- Work closely with network, server, cybersecurity, and database teams to ensure system stability
- Assist with testing and implementation of new imaging software, integrations, and workflows
Travel
No travel is expected for this position other than occasional travel to corporate sites regarding employee relations issues.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or any other health related discipline required or Four or more years of related information technology experience.
Strong background in IT support, systems administration, or healthcare IT
Experience supporting PACS and medical imaging systems
Working knowledge of DICOM, HL7, and imaging workflows from a technical perspective
Familiarity with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage systems, and networking concepts
Experience working with vendors and managing support tickets and SLAs
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Education And Experience
Bachelors or master’s degree in information technology or any other health related discipline preferred.
Experience with enterprise PACS environments (GE, Philips, Sectra, Agfa, Fuji, Healthcare)
Experience with Epic Radiant and Mammo Modules
Knowledge of SQL, scripting, or automation tools
Understanding of cybersecurity and access controls in healthcare IT
Experience with Epic Radiant
Prior experience in a hospital or large healthcare system
Role Emphasis
Primary focus: IT systems support, infrastructure, and integrations
Secondary focus: Imaging workflow support
Minimal emphasis: Direct clinical training or modality operation
