Chief Technology Officer
Indexed description
NovaBirth is a Stockholm-based MedTech startup developing an AI-powered ultrasound solution to objectively assess labour progression at the bedside. By applying AI to ultrasound imaging, we aim to provide a non-invasive alternative to the repeated manual vaginal examinations that are currently standard in maternity care.
These examinations are typically performed every two to four hours throughout labour. They can be uncomfortable and stressful for women, carry a risk of infection, and are highly operator-dependent. NovaBirth aims to support existing ultrasound machines with AI-based analysis, enabling objective, contact-free intrapartum measurements directly at the bedside.
Our goal is to assist doctors and midwives with more consistent and data-driven information during labour, while offering women a safer, more comfortable, and less invasive childbirth experience.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is excited to take ownership of the technical side of an early-stage MedTech startup. You should be comfortable working across the full development process, from machine learning research and prototyping to product engineering and deployment.
The ideal person has strong experience in machine learning, preferably in computer vision or medical AI, and is motivated by building technology with direct patient impact. Since this is a founding role, we are looking for someone who is proactive, responsible, and comfortable with ambiguity. You do not need to have all the answers from the beginning, but you should be willing to learn quickly, make technical decisions, and build together with the team.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely cares about women’s health and wants to help bring more objective, respectful, and patient-centered technology into maternity care.
