Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, this position plays a vital role in ensuring reliable technology operations that support teaching, learning, and administrative functions. The Educational Technology Support Specialist is expected to deliver timely and effective technical support with a strong customer service orientation. The Educational Technology Support Specialist role is a 12-month position, working during school breaks, including the summer.
Major Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Help Desk
- Monitor and respond to Level 1 Help Desk tickets
- Provides basic Microsoft Office and peripheral support to employees and others needing to connect to Walsh Jesuit equipment for multimedia presentations
- Troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, Smart Boards, projectors, printers, peripherals, cabling and other related devices
- Equipment, Inventory & Infrastructure Support
- Sets up and installs computers, monitors, printers, scanners, and peripherals; relocates existing equipment as necessary
- Maintains equipment, peripheral and software inventory lists
- Maintains an appropriate inventory of parts and supplies
- Network Coordination & Systems Support
- Serves as liaison with 3rd party/outside clients to provide appropriate network connectivity while maintaining the security and system integrity of the Walsh Jesuit network, servers and peripheral devices
- Collaboration, Training and Continuous Improvement
- Research and test technology tools as directed to provide solutions to employees
- Collaboration with peer school employees to collaborate on best practices
- Support faculty and staff training initiatives
- Contribute to developing best practices for technology use within a school environment
- Faith Formation
- Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation
- Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled
- High school diploma and trade school degree, or appropriate certifications.
- Willingness to continue education and engage in peer groups
- Experience in a similar position or equivalent training and experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and define problems and recommend or implement appropriate solutions while exhibiting a sense of urgency and customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated knowledge in hardware and software specific to the school
- Ability to communicate effectively with constituents from the entire school community.
- Commitment to Jesuit values, faith-based student formation.
- Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life.
