Founding Backend Engineer

Role summary

Fluencify is hiring a Founding Data Engineer to build the data infrastructure behind our creator marketing platform.

This role is for someone who wants to own the systems that make Fluencify hard to copy: TikTok/Meta indexing, creator and campaign data models, competitor tracking, AI campaign recommendations, and the backend infrastructure that powers our product.

You will work directly with the founders in Stockholm and have a lot of ownership from day one. We are not looking for someone who only wants well-defined tickets. We are looking for a hungry builder who can handle ambiguity, ship quickly, and turn messy creator/campaign data into reliable systems and useful product insights.

Success in this role means that Fluencify has faster, cleaner, more reliable creator and campaign data, better AI-powered campaign recommendations, stronger competitor intelligence, and infrastructure that can scale as we grow.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve data pipelines for creator, video, campaign, TikTok and Meta data
• Design clean data models for creators, campaigns, videos, brands, performance and payouts
• Improve the reliability, speed and quality of Fluencify’s data infrastructure
• Build internal tools and endpoints that help the team understand creator/campaign performance
• Work on AI campaign recommendation infrastructure together with the founders
• Build competitor tracking systems for creator marketing platforms and agencies
• Help improve scraping, indexing, deduplication, enrichment and data quality workflows
• Identify bottlenecks in our backend systems and fix them quickly
• Make practical technical decisions in an early-stage startup environment
• Work closely with Isaac and Erik to decide what to build, what to ignore and what should be automated

Qualifications

• Has built real software projects outside school, work or tutorials
• Strong backend fundamentals
• Comfortable working with APIs, databases, data models and backend services
• Understands or is excited to learn data pipelines, queues, scraping/indexing and data quality
• Can ship fast without needing perfect requirements
• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
• Good judgment around security, reliability and production systems
• Able to explain technical decisions clearly
• Fluent in English
• Based in Stockholm or willing to relocate
• Excited to work in-person with the team

Nice to have

• Experience with TikTok, Meta, social media data, scraping, indexing or creator platforms
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, recommendation systems or data enrichment
• Experience building dashboards, internal tools or analytics products
• Experience with startups, hackathons, open-source projects or side projects
• Experience with TypeScript, Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL, queues, cloud infrastructure or similar tools
• Interest in creator economy, influencer marketing, UGC or social platforms

You might be a student, recent graduate or early-career engineer. What matters is that you are technical, fast, curious and want ownership. You should be the kind of person who has built things on your own because you could not help yourself.
