Investment Principal - Sustainable Infrastructure

Madison Hunt are currently advising a European investment platform on the appointment of a senior investment professional within its sustainable infrastructure investing team. The strategy focuses on lower mid-market infrastructure and infrastructure-adjacent businesses across Europe, with a strong emphasis on growth, transformation and active value creation rather than traditional core/core+ investing.

The team invests behind long-term structural themes including:

• Energy transition

• Digitalisation and connectivity

• Circular economy and resource efficiency

• Sustainable transport and logistics

• Infrastructure-enabled industrial and environmental solutions

Typical investments involve partnering with management teams and founders to help scale platforms, drive operational improvement and support strategic growth initiatives over the long term.

The role will involve:

• Leading investment execution across complex transactions

• Evaluating platform-building and growth-oriented opportunities

• Working closely with portfolio companies post-investment on strategic and operational initiatives

• Supporting origination efforts and thematic market coverage across Europe

• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to broader team leadership

Candidates must come from:

• Infrastructure growth equity

• Value-add infrastructure investing

• Energy transition or sustainable investing strategies

• Private equity investing with meaningful infrastructure or industrial exposure

Candidates should bring:

• Strong transaction execution and financial modelling capability

• Demonstrable origination and sourcing experience across infrastructure or adjacent sectors

• Experience operating across the full investment lifecycle

• A commercial and entrepreneurial mindset

• An interest in active ownership and operational value creation

• The ability to assess businesses beyond purely contracted/core infrastructure risk profiles
