Where do you land?

You will land at the heart of KLM’s Data and Technology organization, improving and developing software for our operations. We work in five different business platforms and you will get to work in one of them. They are: Flight; Ground; Integral Planning and Control; People Technology and Intelligence; and Safety Security and Crisis Management. At D&T we work in agile product teams with usually maximum 5 to 6 developers. Besides this, the teams are continuously improving their agile/scrum way of working and quality through code reviews, automated testing, and refactoring and we use SAFe, Scaled Agile Framework.



What are you going to do?


As a Senior Full Stack Developer at Safety Security and Crisis Management platform, you will:

  • Develop and Maintain Applications: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using Python, Java, and Angular.
  • Cloud Integration: Leverage your expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure to deploy, manage, and optimize applications in the cloud environment.
  • Data Visualization: Utilize charting libraries to create intuitive and insightful data visualizations that enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Real-Time Data Processing: Implement and manage real-time data streaming solutions using Kafka to ensure reliable and efficient data flow.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Code Quality and Best Practices: Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure best practices are followed to maintain high code quality.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to foster their growth and development.



Your profile:

  • Bachelor degree or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other relevant fields.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience building production-grade backend and frontend applications.
  • Good knowledge of:
  • Cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, AWS (preferably GCP).
  • Frontend frameworks (preferably Angular).
  • JavaScript charting libraries such as Chart.js, Plotly, Fusioncharts, etc.
  • Consuming Event Streaming Platforms like Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with server-side programming languages, e.g. Python (must have), Java (good to have), etc.
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Understanding of common algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience with conceptual, logical and physical data modelling.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in mentoring and leading development teams, with a passion for nurturing talent.
