Project Manager – Water / Wastewater / MEP (Connecticut)
This is a chance to join a well-established New England contractor that has been delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects for decades. They’ve built and upgraded 200+ treatment facilities across the Northeast and are known for doing high-quality work that consistently lands on time and on budget. But what really stands out isn’t just the backlog—it’s how they operate.
Why this opportunity is different
- True self-perform capability: From site work and concrete to process piping and equipment installation, a large portion of the work is done in-house. As a PM, you’re closer to the work, the field, and the outcomes.
- Design-build exposure: You’ll have the opportunity to work on integrated design-build projects where engineering, construction, cost, and schedule all sit under one roof. More ownership, more impact, less red tape.
- Specialized niche/long-term stability: Water and wastewater infrastructure isn’t slowing down. This firm has carved out a strong reputation in environmental construction and continues to win complex, technical work.
- Diverse project portfolio: While water/wastewater is the core, projects also span municipal, industrial, energy, and institutional work—keeping things interesting and technically challenging.
- Strong safety and quality culture: Safety isn’t lip service here—it’s embedded across leadership and field operations with dedicated safety leadership and ongoing training.
- Mission-driven work: From advanced filtration systems to environmentally conscious construction practices, the work directly contributes to cleaner water and more sustainable infrastructure.
What you’d be doing
- Leading water/wastewater and MEP-heavy infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships
- Working closely with field teams on self-perform scopes
- Supporting design-build coordination with engineers and internal teams
- Driving project execution with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
What they’re looking for (high-level)
- Experience managing water/wastewater, heavy civil, or MEP-driven projects
- Ability to run projects end-to-end and interface with both field and client teams
- Someone who enjoys being close to the work—not just behind a desk
- Strong communicator with a solutions-oriented mindset
