The Role

The .NET Backend Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable backend services and cloud-native applications using .NET Core and Microsoft Azure PaaS. The role involves hands-on development, contributing to technical design decisions, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.

Your responsibilities:

· Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Core and event-driven architectures.

· Build, configure, and support Azure PaaS components, including SQL Database, Storage, Event Hub, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, APIM, Functions, Key Vault, and Application Insights.

· Develop secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with best practices.

· Implement unit and integration tests and support automated CI/CD pipelines.

· Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability issues.

· Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of code quality and architecture.

· Produce and maintain technical documentation for developed components and services.

· Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other engineers to deliver maintainable and scalable solutions.

· Support the deployment and operation of cloud applications using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

· Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core and REST API design.

· Practical experience with Azure PaaS services, including SQL Database, Storage, Event Hub, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, APIM, Functions, and Key Vault.

· Solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture principles.

· Proficiency in Entity Framework Core, SQL, and relational database design.

· Good knowledge of common design patterns, such as Repository and CQRS.

· Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

· Ability to work effectively within a team while independently handling complex development tasks.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience: (As applicable)

· Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (AKS).

· Knowledge of distributed caching solutions (e.g. Redis).

· Familiarity with API lifecycle management and governance.

· Exposure to performance tuning, monitoring, and scalability strategies in cloud environments.
