Accountabilities and activities

Market Research and Product Proposition

  • Closely monitor updates and changes in HK medical insurance market, including but not limited to industry trend, competitor movements, market competitive analysis, market opportunities and threats, specific client segment to identify the potential business opportunity. Analyze and draw conclusions from research undertaken to improve the BUPA's product positioning in the fast -changing market situation.
  • Drive target client research to constantly identify gap in Bupa's product to enhance clients' impact.
  • Drive product design and innovation according to research result and business needs to help achieving company's business target, focusing on fulfilling medical protection, health services and any legacy needs of clients.
  • Proactively manage the product approval process to get relevant stakeholders' buy-in of the product proposition including senior management and all distribution channel teams.
  • Steer discussion with distribution channel teams to ensure product's marketability, form sales stories, seek market's feedback on the products and react with potential solutions to support business growth opportunity across all channels.
  • Provide insights based on customer feedback and research to implement a Customer Centric solutions fulfilled corporate strategy.

Product Development and Management

  • Work collaboratively with internal functions to drive recommended solution and ensure the feasibility of product designs.
  • Lead and deliver product-related initiatives by adopting a disciplined project management approach and follow the product development operating guideline.
  • Participate in material preparation for the product development. Be responsible and pursue for quality of the project deliverables to ensure accuracy of product materials.
  • Work effectively with all relevant departments across the company to implement projects on time and efficiently.
  • Act as product SME to contribute in various projects such as new regulation implementation, operation enhancements, business development initiatives, etc.
  • Identify and drive seasonal projects/ promotions in response to market and business needs
  • Promote the products to all distribution channels with respect to product proposition, key selling points, market competitiveness, administration rules, sales support, and etc.
  • Strong networking for the industrial practice and market intelligence for portfolio pre-positioning.

To be successful in the position, you should have

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above
  • With min of 5 years relevant insurance business qualifications or equivalent.
  • Strong business acumen, numeric sense, and attention to detail.
  • Mature with excellent presentation and people management skills
  • Preference given to actuarial, consulting, or insurance product background
  • Good knowledge in Insurance principles and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Good communication, problem solving skills and coaching skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
