Technical Consultant

We are looking for a Technical Consultant (TC) to join our Onsite Operations team. In this role, you will advise customers on proactive services, contribute your expertise to the implementation of new solutions, and support the design of storage architectures.

With your foundation in HPE products (3PAR, Primera, Alletra, SAN) or a comparable environment, you will be well-prepared to succeed. A structured onboarding program will further expand your knowledge and help you develop the skills to deliver best-in-class support.

This position is onsite at our customer in Hamburg. Fluent English is required for all meetings, calls, documentation, and emails. German and French are an advantage but not mandatory.

Your Responsibilities

Implementation & Solutions

• Implement new solutions, updates, and improvements (SAN Switches, SAN Storage, Tooling, Certificates).
• Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) to validate features and tooling before production.
• Write technical documentation for processes and usage.
• Deploy hardware and software solutions not covered by third-party operational teams.

Architecture & Expertise

• Contribute to storage architecture design and validation.
• Provide expertise on configuration changes (SAN Switches, 3PAR, Primera, Alletra).

Support & Performance

• Support external provider teams (Broadcom SAN, HPE 3PAR/Primera/Alletra).
• Manage obsolescence planning and architecture.
• Review and analyze performance (KPIs, thresholds) and implement optimizations (e.g. QoS).
• Support incident and problem management (complex analysis, root cause investigation).

Documentation & Processes

• Align and validate best practices documentation.
• Support deployments, tool configurations, and operational processes (monitoring, performance, fine tuning).
• Collaborate with other datacenter teams (network, DC, etc.).

Capacity & Project Support

• Conduct capacity management and align with hardware vendor roadmaps.
• Manage customer stock, hardware installation, and datacenter implementation follow-up.
• Provide performance and capacity reporting using tools such as SSMC, SANNav, Tableau, and scripting.

Your Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory technical expertise:

• HPE storage: 3PAR, Primera, Alletra
• Brocade SAN, SSMC, SANnav
• Reporting & monitoring tools: Arxview, Tableau
• Scripting & automation: Bash, Python, Perl, MySQL, PHP, RestAPI
• Fundamental German language skills and willingness to undergo a security clearance

Additional knowledge beneficial:

• IRS, VMware, Hyper-V, Linux, Windows, ProLiant
• SSL certificates and datacenter operations
