Sr. Staff, Commercial Strategy & Execution
Indexed description
This role is the internal engine that ensures the commercial organization runs smoothly. This role will serve as the VP's proxy in cross-functional forums, synthesize complex business data into actionable decisions, and drive high-priority GTM initiatives across Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Legal.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary representative for the VP of Sales in some internal meetings (e.g., product roadmap alignment, deal desk escalations, marketing syncs) along with advocating for the commercial team’s interests and ensure alignment across departments.
- Triage internal communications, data, and project updates and then distill complex, multi-departmental information into concise executive summaries with framed options and clear recommendations for the VP.
- Own the planning of the lifecycle of strategic commercial initiatives (e.g., new product GTM rollouts, sales process optimization, structural realignments) and ensure cross-functional teams deliver on milestones without requiring the VP's day-to-day oversight.
- Manage the internal operating cadence of the 50+ person commercial organization. Drive the agenda for leadership meetings, QBRs, and all-hands to ensure the team remains aligned with the VP's vision.
- Act as the first line of defense for commercial bottleneck and drive continuity between Sales, Legal, and Finance to accelerate deal velocity, only escalating strategic exceptions to the VP.
- 6–10 years of experience in management consulting, revenue operations, or a highly strategic commercial role within a complex, B2B hardware/software environment.
- Deep understanding of Sales funnels, ARR/NRR, and the operational nuances of selling hardware-as-a-service.
- Ability to quickly grasp the capabilities of the Boston Dynamics robot platforms to speak credibly with Engineering and Product.
- Exceptional ability to synthesize data and cull it down to simple ideas and summaries
- Outstanding analytical capabilities; able to separate signal from noise and frame decisions logically.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) with a proven ability to lead through influence rather than direct reporting authority.
- Exceptional executive presence and the ability to command respect from highly technical engineering teams, seasoned enterprise sellers, and legal/finance departments.
