Responsibilities
- Set up and operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and steam sterilizers.
- Prepare and clean surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
- Decontaminate used instruments before sterilization according to established protocols.
- Inspect and package instruments and supplies for sterilization.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of sterile supplies and assist in reordering as needed.
- Assist in training and orienting new staff members on sterilization procedures and guidelines.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A formal training program in a program for Central Sterilization (CRCST).
- Minimum of 12 months work experience required.
- Require current CPR and must maintain without lapse.
