Certified Central Sterilization Technician - CRCST

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and steam sterilizers.
• Prepare and clean surgical instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Decontaminate used instruments before sterilization according to established protocols.
• Inspect and package instruments and supplies for sterilization.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of sterile supplies and assist in reordering as needed.
• Assist in training and orienting new staff members on sterilization procedures and guidelines.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A formal training program in a program for Central Sterilization (CRCST).
• Minimum of 12 months work experience required.
• Require current CPR and must maintain without lapse.
