(Senior) Software Engineer – Munich, Germany

I’m partnering with a well-funded, stealth-mode climate/energy tech spin-off in Munich that has recently secured significant growth funding. Backed by an established player in the energy optimisation space, the company operates independently and is building a new infrastructure platform from the ground up.

They’re developing an Infrastructure-as-a-Service layer for distributed energy assets, enabling real-time connectivity, monitoring, control, and API integrations across multiple market participants.

The team is currently 9 people and scaling quickly, hiring strong backend-leaning engineers who want real ownership in a zero-to-one environment.

🚀 The Role

This is a backend-focused engineering role with strong production ownership. You will:

• Build and maintain scalable, secure, high-performance systems
• Own features from data modelling, API design, testing, production rollout
• Drive strong code quality and pragmatic architecture decisions
• Improve system observability and operational reliability
• Contribute to infrastructure and cloud deployment strategy
• Work closely with founders and product to shape technical direction

🛠 Tech Environment

• Python (FastAPI)
• AWS
• Infrastructure as Code (CDK / Terraform / Pulumi)
• CI/CD + Docker
• REST APIs / OpenAPI

👤 Ideal Background

• 3+ years in software engineering (mid–senior level)
• Strong Python experience in production environments
• Experience deploying and operating systems in AWS
• Infrastructure-as-Code mindset
• Strong API design skills
• Ownership mentality, you care about what happens after deployment
• Comfortable in an early-stage, high-intensity setting
