POSITION PURPOSE:

The PR & Events Intern will support the Director of Brand Communications in executing PR functions, brand events, and cross functional communications initiatives. The Intern will gain hands-on experience in media relations, content development, event execution and brand marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in building and maintaining media lists and pitching stories to journalists
• Track and merchandise media coverage for the brand, including assisting with the weekly Buzz Report highlighting marketing efforts across all disciplines
• Assist in materials development including press releases, project briefs, manage campaign timelines, and update project management tools, LinkedIn content, etc.
• Work cross functionally to aid in planning, set up and execution of brand and media events and activations, including potential content capture
• Conduct research on industry trends, cultural moments, competitors, potential brand partners, influencers, and other relevant topics, as needed
• Assist with brainstorming creative ideas to support menu and module tests and launches
• Assist with any potential merch development and prize fulfilment, including vendor relations

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

Education/Work Experience:

• Undergraduate student, college seniors, or recent college graduate (within the last 12 months).
• Must be actively enrolled or recently graduated from a degree program in Marketing, Business, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated understanding of current culture and digital trends, and social media platforms.

The pay range identified is the hourly or salary rate El Pollo Loco expects to pay for the posted position. This range does not include any benefits or bonus opportunities that might be available for the position based on position and eligibility criteria. At El Pollo Loco, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range. Individual pay decisions will vary based on a variety of factors including years of experience, industry experience, education, geography, etc.
