Job Responsibilities

Under the direction of the solid waste/ recycling administrator,

  • Perform high level administrative functions within a fast-paced, confidential environment.
  • Prepare bids and contracts while ensuring compliance with SC State Procurement Code and SCDC guidelines.
  • Maintain a log of contracts and leases with suspense dates.
  • Enter requisitions timely and efficiently.
  • Orders all office supplies and equipment for the branch.
  • Track goods received and posts to appropriate purchase order.
  • Maintain a safe, secure working environment.
  • Supervise/instruct inmate workers when needed.
  • Coordinate Human Resource duties within branch.
  • Schedule deliveries and pickups to maximize time and resources.
  • May be required to operate machinery.
  • Schedule subject to change.

Must Successfully Complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements

  • A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in administrative, purchasing, financial or related field.
  • Knowledge of the South Carolina Procurement Code and SAP software.
