Position Title: Communications Specialist

Department/Location: Wauwatosa School District/Fisher Building

Job Classification: Select Employee (Exempt)

Reports to: Director of Strategic Communications

Supervises: N.A.

Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2026

Anticipated Hours: 40 hours per week

Anticipated Rate of Pay: Commensurate with experience

Position Summary: Wauwatosa School District is seeking a creative and motivated communications professional to serve the Communications Department with a focus on digital content creation, research, and management for public-facing communication and community engagement. This role will assist with developing and curating strategic content for Wauwatosa School District's website, social media platforms, marketing campaigns, and more, to support and extend opportunities for the public to engage with the district.

WSD is a high achieving, forward-thinking, and richly diverse public school district serving about 6,500 students and their families. WSD has a strong commitment to creating a sense of belonging for all students. We are focused on increasing the diversity of staff in our schools, and we encourage professionals of all backgrounds to consider joining our amazing district.

Our district consists of nine elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, one choice school, two alternative schools, four alternative programs and services, the Wauwatosa Recreation Department, and a district office. These neighborhood schools are nestled in the charming suburb of Wauwatosa, about 15 minutes west of downtown Milwaukee and the shores of Lake Michigan. Our educational community's long history of excellence has been recognized both regionally and nationally.
