Chief Technology Officer - Maritime (Equity at first)

Heimdall Industries is seeking a technical co-founder and CTO to own the full engineering and AI autonomy stack for our autonomous undersea platforms. You will lead everything from core AI architecture and edge deployment to real-time systems integration and fielded hardware.

This is a true co-founder role with direct ownership over the technology that defines the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own the complete AI autonomy stack (perception, planning, sensor fusion, swarm coordination, and comms-denied navigation)
• Lead hands-on development of edge AI systems, real-time software, and low-SWaP hardware integration
• Drive the full engineering lifecycle from early prototypes to operational platforms
• Make critical architectural decisions on AI, autonomy, energy management, and platform systems
• Build and mentor a high-caliber engineering team focused on AI and robotics

Qualifications

• Deep engineering experience building AI or autonomous systems (perception, planning, multi-agent coordination, or edge deployment)
• Proven track record shipping complex software + hardware products in resource-constrained environments
• Strong background in real-time systems, sensor fusion, or embedded AI
• Comfort leading technical architecture while writing code and debugging hardware in the early stages
• Ability to move fast between research ideas and production-grade systems
• Entrepreneurial mindset with startup or high-growth company experience preferred
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

• Experience with unmanned vehicles, maritime autonomy, acoustic systems, or edge AI in contested environments
