The US operation is a core part of that growth story, and the VP of Sales, Mid-West, is a critical hire in expanding RED's footprint in the region.
The Role
The VP of Sales, Mid-West is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for launching and growing RED's presence across the Mid-West region. You will carry full P&L responsibility, build and lead a high-performing sales team, and personally drive new business development in the early phases. RED operates a contract-first model with a "beat not meet" culture; this role is for someone who finds both genuinely motivating.
You will oversee strategic account development across the SAP and adjacent technology market, maintain quality of service delivery into the region, and act as the senior RED presence in the Mid-West. As the team grows, your focus will shift from personal billing to developing the leaders and structure needed to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Full P&L ownership for the Mid-West region, including developing the annual budget and forecasts and delivering against revenue, NFI and contribution targets.
- Build, hire and develop the regional team across all levels, from consultants through to team leads and practice managers, in line with ambitious headcount and growth targets.
- In the early phases, personally establish new client relationships, win new business and generate revenue in the region.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships across the SAP and adjacent technology market, with a focus on Red's strategic target clients.
- Develop and implement account plans to maximize revenue, margin and retention within key accounts.
- Ensure the sales team builds strong pipeline through a combination of outbound outreach and face-to-face meetings, with deep understanding of client hiring requirements.
- In partnership with the Recruiting team, ensure identification and qualification of suitable candidates prior to submission.
- Maintain and develop a strong network of SAP professionals across both client and candidate communities.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of contractor management for placed candidates, including contract review and negotiation, compliance and the extension process.
- Identify and act on cross-selling opportunities for other RED Global business units within the regional client base.
- Set clear expectations, provide direction, coaching and training, and manage performance across the team.
- Achieve personal and team targets against monthly, quarterly and annual KPIs.
What We Are Looking For
- 10+ years of IT recruitment experience placing professionals into contract positions.
- Minimum five years' experience managing a P&L of significant scale.
- Proven track record of building and leading sales teams, including hiring at all levels.
- Strong record of selling SAP staffing services to clients.
- Experience running split-desk sales teams.
- Excellent client-facing skills, with demonstrated ability to build and develop relationships at hiring manager, C-suite and HR level.
- Strong coaching and development skills, with a track record of taking consultants to senior level.
- Experienced in prospecting, cold calling and client presentations, and able to teach others to do the same.
- Salary and fee negotiation skills.
- Ideally, experience in both permanent and contract placement services.
- Ideally, experience working across US and European recruitment cultures.
- Strong and current understanding of global SAP market trends.
- Ideally, experience building a new sales business unit from scratch within a specialist staffing organization.
