The opportunity!
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods required for beverage production. This role ensures cost efficiency, quality standards, and uninterrupted supply to support manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, supplier management experience, and familiarity with food and beverage supply chains.
Note- this individual must report into one of our hubs: Plano, Chicago, NY or Austin
Responsibilities
- Source and procure raw material ingredients and packaging components.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to ensure timely material availability.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical materials by proactively managing supplier capacity, lead times, and risk factors.
- Develop and maintain safety stock strategies and buffer levels for high-risk or long-lead-time items.
- Identify potential supply disruptions and implement contingency plans, including secondary/backup suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers to forecast demand and secure supply commitments aligned with production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to shortages, delays, or quality concerns in real time.
- Utilize MRP/ERP systems to review purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders aligned with production demand.
- Analyze MRP outputs to ensure accurate order quantities, timing, and alignment with inventory targets.
- Adjust purchasing plans based on changes in production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate master data (lead times, minimum order quantities, pricing, supplier details) within the ERP system.
- Partner with planning teams to optimize order cycles, reduce excess inventory, and prevent stockouts.
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $66,900 - $111,950.

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in food or beverage manufacturing
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Experience in negotiation and vendor management skills is a plus!
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management
- Understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, HACCP) is a plus
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
