Director/VP – Investor Relations & Capital

A specialist private credit manager is seeking a Vice President or Director to lead investor relations and capital formation across its strategies. The firm is an established player in the Australian and New Zealand private debt market, with a multi-year track record of delivering consistent, risk-adjusted returns to institutional, wholesale, and high-net-worth investors. It is backed by a broader alternatives platform with deep distribution infrastructure across the region.

The product set spans corporate lending — including growth finance, acquisition capital, leveraged buyouts, and refinancings — alongside asset-backed finance and wholesale funding solutions to non-bank lenders. Investments are bespoke, relationship-led, and focused on the mid-market, where structuring discipline and credit selection matter most.

This is a senior, investor-facing seat with genuine ownership of the capital raising agenda and the relationships that underpin it.

The Role

You will be the primary day-to-day interface between the firm and its investors across both existing relationships and new capital formation. Working closely with the portfolio managers and senior leadership, you'll be expected to represent the strategies independently, with the technical depth to discuss portfolio construction, credit positioning, and market dynamics without needing the PMs in every meeting.

Core responsibilities span:

  • Owning communication with existing investors, including quarterly reporting, investor presentations, and bespoke information requests
  • Driving capital raising across the firm's strategies, building and managing a pipeline of institutional, wholesale, and HNW prospects
  • Managing relationships with third-party distribution partners, placement agents, and platforms — including SLA oversight and performance review
  • Representing the firm at industry conferences, investor forums, and one-on-one meetings
  • Partnering with the investment, product, and operations teams to ensure investor communication is aligned with portfolio activity
  • Contributing to marketing collateral, thought leadership, and broader brand positioning

What we're looking for

  • 8–15+ years in investor relations, capital raising, or institutional sales — ideally within private credit, fixed income, or alternatives
  • A strong technical grounding in credit markets, fund structures, and portfolio dynamics
  • A demonstrable track record of raising capital and retaining sophisticated institutional and wholesale investors
  • Experience working alongside third-party distributors or capital partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — the ability to translate complex credit concepts into clear, confident investor messaging
  • Commercial, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a growing, entrepreneurial environment

Why this seat

Private credit in Australia continues to attract significant institutional and wholesale flows, and this firm sits squarely in the part of the market where deal quality, structuring discipline, and a proven track record matter most. The platform is well-resourced, the origination engine is established, and there is a clear mandate — and runway — to scale AUM. For the right candidate, this is a rare opportunity to step into a senior IR and distribution seat at a firm with the product, the team, and the infrastructure already in place.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and structured to reward capital formation outcomes.
