Point B is a Chicago-based branding and integrated media agency with over 50 years of experience. We’re seeking a Paid Media Manager to oversee daily social and programmatic buying. The role will be the agency’s go-to expert on paid social and programmatic, and will work closely with media planners, account management, and creative counterparts.


The role will provide input into media plans and lead campaign, creative, and measurement set-up; campaign management, pacing, and optimization; reporting and financial tracking for each client. The Paid Media Manager is expected to work independently, ask questions, and provide proactive solutions. The role will report to the Director of Media, who will provide guidance and support. The role is part of a small media team, so adaptability, flexibility, creative thinking and commitment are especially important.


Client campaigns include B2C and B2B lead generation and e-commerce objectives across senior living, hospitality, apparel, and food & beverage categories. Account assignments are likely to evolve as the agency gains new clients and needs to shift.


Responsibilities

  • Provide input for media plans and creative
  • Collaborate with media planners and account leads to understand client objectives
  • Provide recommendations on how to best achieve objectives using paid social and programmatic platforms
  • Advise account and creative teams on creative assets needed to implement media plans and offer guidance on creative specs and platform best practices
  • Set-up campaigns and creative in platform
  • Set up campaigns in Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, Basis, etc.
  • Traffic creative for campaigns, ensure compliance with creative requirements, provide feedback and guidance to creative teams
  • Manage placement and validation of tracking pixels for Meta, LinkedIn, Basis, and other platforms;, working with media colleagues, client contacts, or directly in GTM or platform tools
  • Ensure successful campaign launches and updates. Troubleshoot campaign set up and delivery if needed
  • Manage and optimize in-flight campaigns
  • Check campaign pacing and performance at regular intervals
  • Assess campaign performance against client objectives and benchmarks
  • Proactively recommend updates to campaign tactics – including budgets, bids, audiences, placements, formats, creative details, etc. – to improve performance
  • Create and edit campaign reports
  • Work with partner agencies and vendors to produce, review, and/or edit monthly reports for clients
  • Create ad hoc reports to answer client questions or requests, when needed
  • Use reporting to inform optimizations and planning
  • Media billing
  • Collaborate with the account team on client communications about budgets and campaign spend
  • Help troubleshoot billing and payment issues with clients and media vendors when they arise
  • Contribute to team and agency development
  • Support new business with media, audience, and platform intelligence
  • Share ideas and help develop processes and templates to make the media team work more efficiently and effectively
  • Learn how to use new platforms and tools for media planning, buying, or operations
  • Participate in office-wide training and development activities


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of media planning experience at an agency
  • MUST have experience with media buying
  • Hands-on-keyboard experience with paid social platforms (Proficiency with Meta is mandatory, and experience with LinkedIn, TikTok and other platforms is strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on-keyboard experience with display and video programmatic buying is preferred, especially with Basis
  • Experience managing campaign pacing - the ability to proactively identify, communicate, and execute on opportunities to improve campaign performance is expected
  • Experience communicating to clients about campaign performance, recommendations, and reports; and contributing to positive client relationships
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and media pixel set up


Aptitudes

  • Creative thinking and problem solving related to media campaign performance and optimization
  • Close attention to the details of media buys – budgets, targets, creatives, etc.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and communicate about timelines and workload
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate openly, sometimes with challenging deadlines and client requests
