Location: Casablanca or anywhere in Morocco, remotely/hybrid model (part-time from office in future)

Business Travel: Up to 80%, including extensive travel to remote locations nationwide.

Contract Type: Part-time consultant, business-to-business (B2B)

Your Mission

As a Project Development Specialist at Green Capital, you will spearhead the development of renewable energy projects supporting Data Centers, guiding them from initial land acquisition through to ready-to-build (RTB) status. This encompasses processes for large-scale solar and wind farms, as well as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Data Centers.

A strong technical and business understanding of the permitting and development processes in the Renewable Energy Sector (RES), is essential. We particularly welcome candidates with local experience and a keen interest in learning about other regional markets.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing projects related to Data Centers, focusing on sustainable power solutions.
  • Identifying and securing land for Data Center developments and dedicated renewable energy installations, ensuring optimal location in terms of infrastructure and power generation potential.
  • Eveloping existing and new projects through all stages of the process from greenfield to RTB - land acquisition, environmental and town planning clearance, connection to the grid etc.
  • Leveraging your expertise in renewable energy (solar, wind, and energy storage) to ensure smooth project execution and overcome challenges.

Role Description

  • Exploring opportunities in Data Center infrastructure powered by renewable energy
  • Drive and lead renewable energy (RES) processes, from land acquisition through the permitting stage to ready-to-build status
  • Source potential land sites for data center and renewable energy projects, utilizing your keen understanding of the industry and geographical landscape.
  • Follow the renewable energy landscape to be up to date with best practices
  • Establish partnerships and foster collaboration with local stakeholders and authorities
  • Lead in the establishment and nurturing of relationships with landowners, demonstrating exceptional follow-up behavior and transparent communication.
  • Develop projects in cooperation with technical advisors, local, provincial and central authorities, and other stakeholders, and the headquarter (HQ) in Poland.
  • Display a commitment to travel, spending up to 80 % of the time in the field, where you will conduct site visits, engage with landowners, meet authorities and technical consultants to make sure that the project is advancing at the expected pac
  • Actively contribute to the growth and development of the company.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in RES project development (all stages to RTB).
  • Awareness of the data center industry and its specific needs regarding power supply and location.
  • Experience with permitting process for RES projects, including contacts with local and governmental administration
  • Possess a grasp of basic real estate legal principles to navigate the intricacies of land acquisition.
  • Exhibit confidence in public speaking and negotiation, allowing you to effectively engage with landowners and community representatives.
  • Strong knowledge of the RES industry (large-scale PV and wind projects)
  • Proficiency in English, French and Arabic, both written and oral.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Ideally, You Will Have

  • Experience working in or with a remote team.
  • Previous experience in Data Center projects.
