We are looking for a motivated and relationship-driven Sales Account Manager (SAM) to join our sales team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this role plays a critical part in expanding our presence within the veterinary community by developing new business while strengthening relationships with existing customers.

What You’ll Do
As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth within your assigned territory through strategic account management, proactive sales activities, and exceptional customer service.
Sales & Business Development
- Meet or exceed company-defined sales activity requirements
- Achieve or surpass revenue and customer retention targets
- Meet or exceed Book of Business growth goals for your territory
- Actively prospect and secure new business opportunities within the territory
- Promote and sell all Gateway services and affiliated offerings
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools to track customer interactions and manage sales activities
- Conduct regular outbound outreach calls to prospective and existing customers
- Maintain a strong presence in the market through frequent client visits
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to develop effective sales strategies
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through ethical and professional engagement
- Identify accounts where revenue may be declining and implement retention strategies
- Conduct regular strategic account reviews with assigned customers
- Ensure timely resolution and follow-up on account issues, particularly for Key Accounts
- Organize sales activities and use geocoding tools to maximize efficiency in the field
- Develop an annual sales and marketing plan to achieve territory goals
- Monitor and anticipate competitor activity to position Gateway as the preferred partner
- Complete weekly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports on sales activities and performance
- Work closely with veterinary clinics to understand their unique operational needs
- Provide tailored solutions that align with clinic requirements and goals
- Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries and concerns
- Coordinate with Operations teams to address service issues and ensure customer satisfaction
- Previous experience working with veterinary clinics or within the veterinary industry
- 3+ years of account management or related in-hospital experience
- Demonstrated understanding of account management principles
- Post-secondary education in business, sales, or marketing strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet-based tools
- Experience working toward Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a vehicle
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable discussing complex topics with veterinary professionals in both one-on-one and group settings
- Strong written communication skills for reports, emails, and documentation
- Active listening skills to understand customer needs and tailor solutions
- Self-starter with strong initiative and drive
- High energy, resilience, and determination to achieve sales objectives

- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
- Ability to walk for extended periods during client visits
- Regular phone communication with customers and colleagues
- Up to 50% overnight travel may be required
- Occasional exposure to elevated noise or heat levels when visiting care centers
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs when necessary
- Occasional weekend work to meet deadlines or attend industry events
