Energy Engineer - NY / MA

We are seeking an Energy Engineer to support multifamily projects through design, analysis, and early construction, helping project teams meet performance, program, and electrification goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project proposals and support development of clear scopes of work related to energy analysis and modeling
- Perform energy modeling and analysis for multifamily projects, including all-electric HVAC and domestic hot water systems
- Review architectural and mechanical drawings to evaluate energy efficiency, system performance, and program alignment
- Support energy audits, utility analysis, and savings calculations to inform design decisions
- Assist with documentation review, submission tracking, and verification for ENERGY STAR, LEED for Homes, Passive House, and related programs
- Coordinate with internal project managers to support schedules, scopes, and client deliverables
- Participate in on-site inspections and performance testing to verify alignment with modeled and program requirements
- Stay current on building science best practices, energy standards, and program updates
- Experience contributing to energy modeling, audits, or green building certification programs
- Strong understanding of building science principles, HVAC systems, and high-performance construction strategies
- Familiarity with energy modeling tools such as eQUEST, TREAT, TRACE, HERS software, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within documentation and QA/QC workflows
- Clear and professional communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based file management tools
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, building science, or a related field; or
- Associate’s degree with extensive related experience; or
- Significant experience in building construction, energy analysis, or performance testing
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Northeast, including occasional overnight travel
- Competitive compensation range: $72,000–$100,000
