Accountability:â¯Performs mechanical repairs including cutting, welding, and overall mechanical aptitude. Railcar inspections & repairs will be documented for verification and to ensure the work is being done correctly and in a timely manner.â¯
Responsibilities:â¯â¯
- Welding, cutting, and mechanical type repairsâ¯
- Forklift operationâ¯
- Understanding of documenting work performed and recording material usageâ¯â¯
- Ensure that paperwork for railcar repairs is complete and correctâ¯
- Ensure that repair jobs are completed in a timely mannerâ¯
- Ensure that vehicles and shops kept clean & safeâ¯
- Ensure that the employees are working in a safe mannerâ¯â¯
- Assist with inspection and repairs as neededâ¯
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.â¯
Physical Requirements:â¯â¯
- Able to perform physical strenuous work
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
- Requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and balancingâ¯in a safe mannerâ¯
- Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 lbs
- Perform a rapid, horizontal hand torque action with a force of 100 lbs
