Production Cost Reporting Analyst

The Production Cost Reporting Analyst supports Operations by maintaining accurate labor reporting, job costing, and ERP data in the M2M system. This role reviews labor postings, resolves variances, supports routing accuracy, and helps maintain reliable shop floor data.

Key Responsibilities

• Review labor and quantity postings daily, weekly, and monthly for accuracy, and make corrections when needed.
• Audit routings for rate accuracy and partner with Engineering to update them as necessary.
• Perform time studies and recommend routing changes.
• Track, analyze, and report labor variances by production area.
• Support operations training related to proper labor entry and job reporting.
• Prepare job order variance reports and assist with variance review.
• Update item master data in M2M as needed.
• Investigate labor reporting errors, posting discrepancies, and inventory transactions.
• Support gross profit reviews by item number and identify key profit and loss drivers.
• Work with Operations leadership to identify major labor variances and help drive corrective actions.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Experience with job costing and inventory control systems, M2M preferred.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Comfortable working with operators, supervisors, and management on the floor.
• Strong understanding of labor variances and production cost drivers.
• Experience and Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Engineering preferred.
• 2-3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing routings, labor standards, ERP systems, and shop floor data collection preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to move throughout the facility as needed.
• Some domestic and international travel may be required.
