Head of Social Media

Location: Sutton Coldfield

Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days a week in the office)

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000

Where do you fit in?

We're looking for an experienced Head of Social Media to head up our social media team, taking day-to-day responsibility for managing and running the team, providing the oversight, direction and support they need to do their best work for our clients.

This is a management role focused on setting the standard for what good looks like, approving the team's work before it goes out and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. The team manages social media across a varied portfolio of B2B and professional services clients and you will make sure we lead by example in everything we produce.

You'll be based in our Sutton Coldfield office three days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely for up to two days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive the social media strategy across the agency, setting a clear direction for clients and holding the team accountable to it
• Lead, develop and manage the social media team running structured check-ins, reviewing output and managing workloads
• Responsible for planning, briefing and approval processes that keep work on track and ensuring nothing slipping through the net
• Be the senior point of contact for client escalations and strategic social media conversations
• Monitor performance across platforms, identify trends and translate insight into clear, actionable recommendations
• Work collaboratively across the agency with designers, copywriters, paid media and digital teams to deliver integrated campaigns
• Working with the Marketing Director on the strategy for JE Consulting's own social media channels, leading by example and ensuring we practice what we preach
• Stay ahead of platform changes, algorithm updates and emerging formats, keeping the team informed and ahead of the curve

Key skills

• 5+ years in social media, with at least 2 years in a senior or management role. Agency experience strongly preferred
• A track record of leading and developing a team, not just working in one
• Platform knowledge across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, with a clear understanding of what works where and why
• Highly organised and process-driven
• Confident and credible in client-facing situations - able to present, challenge and guide at a senior level
• A strong eye for creative quality, with the ability to brief, review and elevate the team's output
