Senior Bookkeeper (Manchester)

As a Senior Bookkeeper for The Part-Time Finance People, you will provide tailored bookkeeping support across areas including invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, sales and purchase ledger management, bank reconciliations, and general day-to-day bookkeeping duties. You will help maintain accurate financial records, support smooth accounting processes, and ensure financial information is kept up to date for the business.
About You:
You should be a experienced Senior Bookkeeper/Finance Manager with a passion for supporting SMEs. Ideally, you are already self-employed, with at least 2/3 days of availability per week.
Your expertise should include:
- Customer invoicing and sales ledger management
- Credit control and debtor reporting to directors
- Supplier invoices and purchase ledger management
- Drafting payment runs for approval
- Supplier reconciliations
- Bank postings and reconciliations
- Expense and credit card management and reconciliation
- VAT returns
- Payroll (possibly) and pension administration
- Month-end journals including depreciation, accruals, and prepayments
- Experience with Xero (ideally with QuickBooks and Sage50 as well)
Rate of pay: £22.50 per hour
Hours: 2/3 days per week
Location: Manchester (onsite)
