Senior Accountant

A Wiss manufacturing client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Essex County, NJ. This position will be hands-on, managing full-cycle accounting + operations. This individual must be able to work fully onsite. The compensation range for this role is $90k - $110k.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Maintain and reconcile inventory, cost accounting, and overhead allocations
• Review product profitability and inventory costing data
• Process payroll and maintain payroll accounting records
• Oversee AP/AR functions including invoicing, customer payments, ACH/check processing, and vendor communications
• Perform bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and budgeting support
• Maintain accounting records and reporting within QuickBooks
• Support insurance renewals, audits, annual filings, and compliance reporting
• Analyze operational and manufacturing cost data including freight, labor, and inventory adjustments
• Partner with leadership on financial analysis, reporting, and process improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or inventory-driven environments
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and month-end close
• Experience with QuickBooks and ADP preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analysis/reporting
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote environment
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses preferred
