Lead/Senior AI FullStack Engineer
Indexed description
Client - Europe's largest online car marketplace with 30M+ monthly users across 18 countries - is investing in a next-generation Agentic Software Delivery platform. The goal: run autonomous engineering tasks at scale, starting with SDLC automation and expanding beyond. Humans steer, agents deliver.
This is greenfield work. A dedicated team will build an end-to-end platform on top of AWS, integrating with existing internal systems and delivery processes. The north star is 10–20% of JIRA stories flowing through fully autonomous delivery within 12 months.
We are looking for a mature, self-driven Full-Stack Engineer with AI experience who thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership without waiting to be directed. This is not a request-response role - the ideal candidate proactively identifies what needs to be done, picks it up, and drives it forward.
Beyond core engineering, a meaningful part of the role (~10%) involves engaging with internal delivery teams: understanding how they work today, where friction exists in their SDLC, and feeding those insights back into what's being built. Think of it as technical discovery embedded in engineering - not BA in the traditional sense, but the same curiosity and listening skills applied in a developer-to-developer context.
As the platform rolls out, the engineer will also act as advocate and coach, helping other teams understand and adopt the new tooling.
Must-Have Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in full-stack environments.
- AI Tooling: hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tooling - e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, or similar agentic coding tools. Candidates must show genuine enthusiasm for - and practical experience with - using AI agents in their development workflow.
- Strong full-stack fundamentals; comfortable owning significant pieces end-to-end across frontend and backend.
- Proven ability to work in a proactive, self-directed manner - identifies gaps, proposes solutions, and executes without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Strong communication skills in English (B2–C1); able to engage confidently with peer engineers across teams.
That said, the final technology choices are not fully locked - the team should be prepared to adapt (e.g. to Python-based orchestration) if a different engine is selected.
Required:
- Solid Java and React experience (primary stack).
- Practical experience with AWS (core services: Lambda, ECS, etc.).
- Workflow Engines: Experience with workflow or orchestration engines (e.g. Camunda, N8N, or similar).
- Camunda experience specifically is a significant advantage given the current architectural direction.
- Familiarity with AWS AI services; AWS AI Practitioner certification (AIF-C01) is a notable bonus.
- Exposure to cloud-native orchestration patterns and multi-agent system design.
- Energized by the idea of changing how software gets delivered - not just a participant, but a believer.
- Forward-thinking: stays current with the AI/agentic tooling landscape and brings new ideas to the team.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements; can make pragmatic decisions when the path isn't fully defined.
- Enjoys tight feedback loops - proactively seeks input from future users to shape what's being built.
- Acts as an advocate and coach when rolling out new tooling: explains, demonstrates, and helps others adopt.
- Flexible working format - remote, office-based or flexible
- A competitive salary and good compensation package
- Personalized career growth
- Professional development tools (mentorship program, tech talks and trainings, centers of excellence, and more)
- Active tech communities with regular knowledge sharing
- Education reimbursement
- Memorable anniversary presents
- Corporate events and team buildings
- Other location-specific benefits
- not applicable for freelancers
