Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Portfolio Strategy Manager to lead the strategy, growth, positioning, and lifecycle management of a technical product portfolio serving the life sciences, laboratory, and biopharma manufacturing markets. This role will focus on physical product lines used in highly regulated environments, including specialty tubing, hose, fluid transfer, containment, and related single-use or process components.
This is a commercially focused, technically informed role for someone who understands how manufactured products move through the market — from customer need and material selection to pricing, launch strategy, quality considerations, and long-term portfolio performance. The right person will be able to work closely with customers, sales, R&D, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and marketing to ensure the product portfolio is aligned with market demand and business growth goals.
The ideal candidate will bring experience with life science, biopharma, medical device, laboratory, polymer, fluid handling, or other regulated technical products, with the ability to balance customer requirements, commercial strategy, technical feasibility, and compliance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy, portfolio planning, and lifecycle management for assigned physical product lines serving life science, lab, and biopharma customers
- Support growth and positioning of tubing, hose, fluid transfer, containment, and related process component products
- Build business cases for new product introductions, product enhancements, market expansion, and portfolio rationalization
- Use customer feedback, voice-of-customer research, sales input, and market data to identify product gaps and new opportunities
- Partner with R&D, engineering, quality, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to bring new or improved products to market
- Support Stage-Gate and PLM processes for physical product development, launch planning, and ongoing lifecycle decisions
- Develop pricing recommendations for new and existing products based on cost structure, customer value, market conditions, channel strategy, and competitive positioning
- Help define product positioning, value propositions, promotional content, and sales enablement materials for assigned product families
- Serve as a product and market subject matter expert for internal teams, customers, distributors, and commercial partners
- Support technical and commercial evaluation of product performance, quality issues, material concerns, and customer claims
- Work closely with quality and regulatory teams to ensure product decisions align with industry standards and customer expectations in regulated environments
- Evaluate product line performance and recommend growth, rationalization, repositioning, or discontinuation strategies where appropriate
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, technical events, and industry conferences
- Lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority by driving alignment across commercial, technical, and operational teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, product strategy, commercialization, or technical product marketing
- Experience with physical manufactured products, ideally within life sciences, biopharma, medical device, laboratory, fluid handling, tubing, polymers, or highly regulated technical markets
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, Stage-Gate processes, business case development, and new product introduction
- Experience developing pricing strategies, go-to-market plans, product positioning, and portfolio growth initiatives
- Ability to work with technical product details while still thinking commercially about customers, markets, pricing, and growth
- Familiarity with quality, regulatory, and compliance considerations in regulated manufacturing or life science environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate market trends, customer needs, pricing data, product performance, and competitive positioning
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across sales, marketing, R&D, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and executive leadership
- Ability to work fully onsite in Willow Grove, PA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tubing, hose, single-use systems, polymer-based products, fluid transfer, containment systems, or process consumables
- Background supporting products used in biopharma manufacturing, lab environments, drug production, medical device manufacturing, or life science research
- Familiarity with polymer materials, material compatibility, validation requirements, extractables/leachables, sterilization, or cleanroom-related product considerations
- Experience supporting distributors, channel partners, OEM customers, or technical sales teams
- Advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
