Description

Leads the strategy, ideation, and development in crafting an innovative platform connecting researchers with research participants. Leverages data analysis and web development skills to build a platform that optimizes matching algorithms, provides intuitive user experiences, and integrates comprehensive data analytics tools. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.

  • Manages web product(s) through the entire development lifecycle, from conception and planning to tactical execution and sustainment.
  • Creates products for a user-friendly web platform through the development of new-emerging web products and enhancements to optimize interaction for both users and participants. Defines and articulates the product vision, strategy and road map to all audiences.
  • Incorporates analytical tools to gain a deeper understanding of participant behavior, demographics and engagement patterns.
  • Partners with various departments to conceptualize, design and implement innovative platform features.
  • Applies advance analysis to evaluate the functional use and sustainability of platform features and third-party solutions.
  • Designs, constructs and rolls out machine learning solutions for diverse platform needs.
  • Employs machine learning and data analytics to continuously improve and augment platform capabilities.
  • Performs navigation analysis and browser compatibility assessments and testing by utilizing applications to ensure technical performance. Troubleshoots, research and tracks web technology issues to determine solutions and identifies opportunities to mitigate risks and threats.
  • Stays abreast of latest trends in both data science and web technologies to continuously innovate the platform.
  • Interprets, reviews and updates departmental procedures for routine and complex tasks to ensure compliance with the university.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Preferred: Master's Degree.

Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.

This role is responsible for shaping how institutional data is structured, governed, and optimized for AI and analytics use cases. The Full Stack Data Specialist will be a subject matter expert for preparing and managing data consumed by AI systems including large language models (LLMs), websites, databases, and other knowledge sources. The prospective candidates should also have experience developing reporting dashboards and working with technical and non-technical teams to improve data quality and usability. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with the ability to translate complex data concepts into useful guidance for stakeholders.

Experience with SQL, Python, data visualization tools, modern data management practices, and AI-related data concepts is preferred. Candidates should be adaptable and comfortable working in evolving data systems. Essential skills include strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, and experience supporting data governance, reporting and optimization across multiple systems is highly desired.
