Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Executes financial close process for inventory accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries with documented support, and various balance sheet account reconciliations with accuracy
- Coordinates receipt of information from across the business to complete financial close, including the receipt of invoices and accruals from various departments
- Communicates with other employees across the business to understand transactions and ensure appropriately accounted for
- Prepares various working papers on a monthly and quarterly basis for internal reporting and for the use by external and internal auditors
- Ensures appropriate documentation is retained and that working papers accurately describe transactions
- Communicates with external and internal auditors as required to discuss processes and transactions
- Completes other ad hoc tasks and requests as required to support the overall finance team
- Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program with a focus in accounting, or other equivalent
- Up to and including three (3) years of experience in finance with strong understanding of accounting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills of a detailed technical nature
- Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot problems that may arise and refer to manager
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including the use of formulas and pivot tables
- Must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and have strong organizational skills
- Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team in order to meet individual and team financial goals
- Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail
- Communicates with positive outlook, and proactive attitude minimizing negative behaviors
- Experience with JDE (E1) would be considered an asset
