Head of Infrastructure

Head of Infrastructure opportunity with a leading healthcare organisation in South Dublin. Reporting to the CIO, you will lead infrastructure operations, architecture, and delivery across on-prem and cloud environments, ensuring all systems are secure, resilient, and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the infrastructure teams
• Oversee 24/7 operation of infrastructure services supporting clinical and business systems (Windows/Linux, SAN/NAS, Cloud and SaaS platforms, Telephony and communication systems)
• Lead all infrastructure projects (system upgrades, cloud migrations, hardware refresh)
• Ensure infrastructure complies with healthcare regulations and standards (HIQA, NIS2, GDPR).
• Lead business continuity and disaster recovery
• Manage key vendors (contracts, SLAs, performance)
• Budget & Resource Management

Experience

• 10+ years in IT infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Bachelor’s degree and professional certifications (Azure/AWS, ITIL, Prince2 / PMP or equivalent)
• Experience managing complex infrastructure environments (on-premises and cloud)
• Experience leading and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects
• Strong experience in network, server, storage, and cloud technologies
• Experience managing vendors, contracts, and service delivery
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, NIS2)
