The Role

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with mobile and web application experience to join our App Stream team. Working under the guidance of our technical leadership, you'll contribute to building and maintaining the mobile applications and web platforms that serve hundreds of thousands of readers across iOS, Android, and web.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated developer to grow their skills in a high-impact environment where your work directly influences how audiences engage with Ireland's leading news organisation. You'll work on technical challenges including cross-platform mobile development, responsive web applications, API integration, and performance optimisation across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities;

• Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native or Flutter
• Build and maintain responsive web applications using React
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using TypeScript/JavaScript
• Implement user interfaces with focus on performance, accessibility, and user experience
• Write comprehensive tests and maintain high code quality standards
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation
• Collaborate with Product, Editorial, and Commercial teams to deliver features
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Support deployment processes and participate in release management

Requirements & Experience for the role;

• 3-5 years of software development experience
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript development skills (backend and frontend)
• Proven experience with React for web application development
• Experience with cross-platform mobile development (React Native or Flutter)
• Experience with RESTful API design and development
• Understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• PHP experience desirable

• Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Detox or similar frameworks
