What You’ll Do
The People & Culture Generalist plays a key role in supporting our Manufacturing teams by delivering essential HR programs that help our people learn, grow and win every day. This role provides hands‑on HR support to the Ferndale Manufacturing facility, while also offering generalist support to our Pennsylvania location as needed. This role is based on site at our Ferndale location 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
Employee Experience, Culture & Engagement
- In conjunction with our HR Branch Coordinator, support onboarding, engagement and offboarding activities
- Be a visible, approachable People & Culture presence on the production floor
- Support culture‑enhancing programs, recognition efforts and team‑building activities
- Identify opportunities to enhance day‑to‑day employee experience and recommend solutions to support employee retention
- Coordinate and support lunch‑and‑learn sessions to promote learning, connection and cross‑functional knowledge sharing
- Act as a go‑to resource for employees and manage HR inquiries
- Support investigations and escalate complex employee relations matters as needed
- Support progressive discipline steps and provide guidance to managers
- Analyze and report on people metrics (turnover, engagement, compensation, succession, etc.)
- Provide insights from people data to support retention, development, and workforce planning
- Prepare regular and ad hoc HR reports and dashboards
- Lead salaried recruitment for Ferndale and Hourly and Salaried recruitment for our Eden Millwork site in Knox, Pennsylvania
- Partner with supervisors to manage interviews, screening and hiring across multiple shifts
- Support recruitment activities using proactive sourcing strategies, including LinkedIn Recruiter, local colleges.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Washington State and Pennsylvania employment laws and regulations
- Stay current on evolving state and federal HR requirements, tracking upcoming changes that impact our operations
- Inform the broader People & Culture team and onsite leadership of upcoming legislative or compliance changes, ensuring proactive planning and alignment
- Support updates to policies, procedures, and documentation to maintain compliance across both Washington and Pennsylvania locations
- Monitor and support work permit and visa processes, ensuring timely renewals and accurate documentation
- Coordinate timelines, updates and next steps with employees and leaders to ensure smooth processing
- Stay informed on current immigration policies, regulatory changes and best practices that impact work authorization
- Share updates with the broader People & Culture team and onsite leadership to ensure awareness of upcoming changes and proactive planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field OR 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred
- Experience in HR reporting and analytics
- Hourly and salaried recruitment experience
- Working knowledge of Washington State employment laws
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint); ADP and SharePoint experience is a plus
- Highly organized, responsive, and comfortable managing competing priorities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Demonstrated hands-on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mindset
- Bilingual skills are considered an asset (Spanish and English)
