Senior Intellectual Property Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Senior Intellectual Property Engineer (m/f/d), you support Nordex’s technology and product teams by safeguarding innovations and managing industrial property risks. You work closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders to build and protect a robust IP portfolio across relevant systems and technologies. The role contributes directly to securing competitive advantage and freedom to operate in a global engineering environment.

YOUR TASKS

• Provide advice and hands-on support on intellectual property topics to multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
• Manage and further develop the intellectual property portfolio for assigned systems and technologies within the product pipeline
• Conduct patent database searches for patentability, freedom-to-operate, and non-infringement assessments
• Coordinate invention harvesting activities and translate technical concepts into patentable subject matter
• Prepare and manage patent application drafts, official actions, oppositions, and related prosecution activities
• Support trade secret protection strategies and contribute to technology license agreement preparation and negotiation

YOUR PROFILE

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Physics, or a comparable technical field, or equivalent qualification
• More than seven years of professional experience in intellectual property, preferably within an industrial or technology-driven environment
• Sound knowledge of patent law, industrial property processes, and IP portfolio management
• Ability to work confidently with complex technical systems and explain IP topics to non-IP experts
• Very good command of English at C1 level, with German or Spanish considered an advantage
• Structured, independent working style with strong collaboration skills in multidisciplinary and international teams
