Bryant Christie Inc. (BCI), an international affairs firm specializing in agricultural and food trade, is seeking a detail-oriented Grant Finance & Bookkeeping Specialist to support the financial administration of client export market development programs.

This role includes bookkeeping assistance for small agricultural non-profit organizations and grant-related accounting functions, including invoice review, payment processing, reconciliations, budgeting support, and financial reporting tied to U.S. government-funded programs. This is not a full-charge accounting or controller role, but rather a critical operational position supporting compliance, accuracy, and timely financial processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping for agricultural non-profit organizations including accounts payable and accounts receivable. No payroll.
  • Review, process, and track invoices to ensure compliance with U.S. government grant program requirements, with a focus on international product promotion activities
  • Manage invoice workflows and accounts payable to support timely and accurate payments
  • Communicate with clients and overseas vendors to resolve invoice questions and documentation needs
  • Assist with contract setup, budget tracking, and expense monitoring for grant-funded programs
  • Record payments and perform bank and account reconciliations related to program activity
  • Prepare routine financial reports and summaries for internal teams and clients
  • Support audit preparation, including documentation gathering and responding to audit requests
  • Perform other finance- and administration-related tasks as assigned

What the Successful Candidate will have:

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus while handling repetitive, accuracy-driven tasks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly when working with vendors and clients
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a steady, transaction-heavy workload
  • A sense of ownership and pride in producing clean, well-documented work

What could set you apart:

  • College degree (not required)
  • Experience with spreadsheets, bookkeeping, or financial data tracking
  • Familiarity with federal or state grant programs, cost eligibility rules, or compliance requirements
