Travel CoordinatorPurpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Travel Coordinator in our Norfolk, Virginia location.
- Coordinates travel itineraries, ensuring all arrangements align with client preferences and company policies.
- Supervises travel staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high-quality service and efficient operations.
- Manages travel inventory, including booking systems and vendor relationships, to secure the best rates and services.
- Communicate with clients to understand their travel needs and preferences, providing personalized recommendations.
- Develop and maintain travel schedules, ensuring timely departures and arrivals for all travelers.
- Monitor travel expenses and budgets, preparing reports to meet financial targets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Resolve travel-related issues, such as cancellations or changes, promptly and professionally to minimize disruptions.
- Stays updated on travel trends, regulations, and best practices to provide clients with the most relevant information.
- Assists in the development of travel policies and procedures to enhance overall travel management efficiency.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless integration of travel plans with business objectives and schedules.
- Must have bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant technical or operational experience; OR Associate degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR High School diploma/equivalent with 10 years of relevant technical or operational experience.
- Must have proficiency in travel booking software and online platforms (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, or Concur)
- Must have strong organizational skills to handle multiple travel itineraries and schedules
- Must have excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Must pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy in travel arrangements and documentation
- Must have problem-solving abilities to address and resolve travel-related issues efficiently
- Must possess Knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements, and industry trends
- Must have ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Must be able to demonstrate customer service orientation to enhance the travel experience for clients
- Prefer to have the ability to obtain a passport.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and naval installations.
- There is no travel required for this role.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
