About Our Client
For 37 years, our client has been a trusted commercial furniture dealer with a growing national footprint. What began in the college and university market has expanded into a diverse portfolio that includes career centers, public libraries, commercial businesses, religious organizations, affordable housing, and senior living communities.
At our core, our client is a close-knit team built on trust, reliability, and accountability. We believe great partnerships start with great people — professionals who take genuine ownership of their work and are committed to delivering thoughtful, functional environments that serve our clients’ missions.
The Role
This is first and foremost an accounting position. We are seeking someone who is genuinely strong in bookkeeping and financial operations — someone who takes pride in clean books, timely follow-through, and maintaining healthy cash flow. These responsibilities will be at the core of what you own.
Beyond the accounting function, you will play a supportive role in the daily rhythm of our office — answering calls, maintaining records, and serving as a dependable point of contact for clients and vendors. We value team members who understand that operational excellence is built on consistency and reliability.
This role is structured as a part-time position, offering flexibility in scheduling while maintaining consistent accountability for core financial responsibilities. We are looking for someone who values steady, meaningful work and wants to be part of a growing business without the demands of a full-time schedule. You will report directly to the Finance Manager, making this a high-visibility role where your contributions have a direct and measurable impact on the company’s financial health and day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do
Accounting & Finance — Primary Focus:
• Own day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks: invoices, payments, and reconciliations
• Manage accounts receivable and payable to keep cash flow healthy
• Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices, professionally and persistently
• Coordinate bank deposits and collaborate with our external CPA on sales tax filings
• Work with vendors on credit terms; support payroll processing and tax submissions
• Assist with income tax worksheets and business computations as needed
Office Support — Secondary:
• Serve as a professional first point of contact for incoming calls and inquiries
• Provide general administrative support; maintain organized records and documentation
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Solid grasp of GAAP; experience with payroll processing and tax filings
• Excellent communicator — comfortable with customers, vendors, and the internal team
• Highly organized, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have:
• 3–5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience (AP/AR, general ledger, payroll)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Small business or entrepreneurial environment experience
